Nice group to a voluntary policeman, Mr Imre Zilahi. He was awarded the Public Security Medal's Gold and Silver classed - both with large award certificates in folders, Volunteer Police badge, and Volunteer Police Long Service Badges for 5, 10 and 15 years of service. Interesting group as Volunteer Police Officers were usually not awarded these high ranking medals...

The Önkéntes Rendőr (“Volunteer Police Officer”) was a uniquely Hungarian institution that existed during the communist era. It was a nationwide auxiliary force of civilian volunteers who assisted the regular police (the People’s Police, Magyar Népköztársaság Rendőrsége) in maintaining public order. It was established in 1955 and continued until the regime change in 1989–1990.
