Born: Páli, September 21, 1928
His father was an agricultural worker. His son practiced his parents' profession, and in 1946 he joined the Hungarian Communist Party. From 1949 he was a political associate of the MKP in Kapuvár, then secretary of the MKP's Csorna district party committee. In 1950 he entered the internal affairs service; He was deputy secretary of the BM Border Guard party committee, sub-department head, department head, independent department head and then deputy state security department head. From 1974 he was the national commander of the BM Border Guard; border guard major general. In 1976 he became deputy minister of personnel. In August 1982, he was appointed deputy minister of the interior for state security, head of the BM III. (state security) main group. The following year he was awarded the rank of police lieutenant general. In April 1985, he proposed his dismissal from the Public Administration and Administrative Department of the Central Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party and his appointment as State Secretary of the Interior.
